I love cats. We have two cats in our family.
Mum and Dad have a very old cat (Mum says if she was a person, she would be over 100 years old). I call her “Toothless”. It’s not her proper name, but she’s lost most of her teeth and her colour is the same as the dragon called Toothless out of the movie “How to Train Your Dragon”.
My cat is called Bluebell and she’s nearly 3 years (real years) old. I’ve had her since she was a kitten. She’s a beautiful Bengal mix and loves to sleep next to me.
Since Saturday we’ve also had another pet, called Lucky. Lucky isn’t a cat, but a butterfly. Yesterday we released Lucky’s four brothers and sisters, but Lucky didn’t want to fly away. We’ve had Lucky since she (I think Lucky is a girl butterfly, but I’m not sure) was a tiny caterpillar. Mum ordered the caterpillars from Insect Lore. Everything was going well, but unfortunately, just when Lucky was turning into a chrysalis, Bluebell found the cup they were living in and knocked it onto the floor. Lucky’s chrysalis ended up lying on its side, rather than hanging down from the lid. When she emerged, her butterfly wings didn’t unfold properly, and as she walks, she tends to lean over and go in a circle. I called her Lucky because we weren’t even sure if she would emerge at all. We tried to set her free yesterday, but she didn’t want to go, so we’ve decided to keep her. Each day we will try to set her free again, otherwise we will keep feeding her sugary water, oranges and flowers from the garden. I will keep you posted on what happens to Lucky!
